Kusu Island: Annual Pilgrimage

Kusu (Tortoise) Island was located on the south of Singapore and about 35 mins by ferry.  It gots it name, as legend says, when a tortoise turned into an island to save 2 shipwrecked sailors.

During the ninth lunar month, the island gets busy with pilgrims descending upon this place.  We went on a weekday and so it wasn't crowded.
On the island, there is a Chinese temple..... and a Malay Kramats (Shrine).

And for beach lovers...

For foreign visitors, unless you have much time to spare in Singapore, Kusu Island would not be a top priority for you.
