Thaipusam is celebrated by the Tamils in Singapore, an annual procession fulfilling vows by the Hindus. The ceremony commenced in the late evenings at Sri Srinivasa Perumal Temple along Serangoon Road.
This blog includes my 2 interests: attending arts performances and travels. It serves as a documentation of the Singapore arts and culture scene. For my travels, I hope my experience will make your next trip more fruitful and enjoyable.

Art Stage Singapore 2011
Art Stage was a new visual art fair coming to Singapore. This was the first edition held at Marina Bay Sands from 12 to 16 Jan 2011. In terms of scale, Art Stage seemed to get the bigger galleries than the other art fairs.
Some of the works exhibited:
Ravinder Reddy, Gallery Sumukha |
Paresh Maity, Gallery Sumukha |
Eric Chan, Chan Hempe Galleries |
The fair organiser also held education events and talks, some with the Singapore Art Museum. It was a good initiative to educate the public on the appreciation of art, as there are many nationalities and styles of art at the fair.
This was a good start for Art Stage. I hope that it will have an impact on the visual art scene, and benefit local artists.
