This blog includes my 2 interests: attending arts performances and travels. It serves as a documentation of the Singapore arts and culture scene. For my travels, I hope my experience will make your next trip more fruitful and enjoyable.

Cavalia: The beauty of horses and equestrian arts
Entering the white tent, I thought that we would be seated in a round, as in most circus performances. As shown in the photo, we have a proper stage setting. While waiting for the show to start, we were quizzed on the production Cavalia, in particular on the horses. This proved to be both entertaining and educational to the audience.
The initial entry of the horses drew gasps and wows from the audience, and it would be the most common reaction from the audience throughout the show.
The show was presented in several segments, and with beautiful multimedia imagery, set the mood perfectly
While the horses were the key focus of this production, the human performers shared equal spotlight during the performance, be it forming human pyramid or attempting stunts with the horses.
While there was a saying that in show business, never work with animals or children, this production proved otherwise (at least for the animals).
My favourite segment would be Ecounter, a quiet moment featuring about 5 white houses and its trainer. The lights were dimmed and the horses executed the routine beautifully. It was hypnotic and mesmerising.
From the TV interview, the producer mentioned that water element was introduced in the Singapore show. And this last segment did not disappoint and it closed a beautifully choreographed show.
Recommended.
