Edges The Musical

Edges The Musical was about coming of age stories young adults.  There was no distinct plot-line and the show was strung together by a series of songs, performed by 4 capable actors Benjamin Kheng, Mina Ellen Kaye, Linden Furnell and Kristy Griffin.  Incidentally Mina and Kristy were featured in SRT's Goldilocks and the 3 Bears which was still in theatre this moment (see my review on the show).

It would be tough for a 75 minute piece to be without dialogue, but the songwriting pair of Benj Pasek and Justin Paul produced 15 enjoyable songs whick kept the audience entertained.  I enjoyed those songs in the second half (Be My Friend, In Short, I Once Knew).

The 4 actors sang well and captured the audience's attention.  They were supported well by the one-man orchestra Joel Nah.  Linden joined Joel on the guitar on one song, which was a good break from the keyboard sound for the entire show.

In the end, this is a show where good music and good singing won the day.  It should appeal to a young audience.  Ticket price is also reasonable.  Recommended.
