Joined a guided tour on the South East Asian artists featured in the 2013 Art Stage. Our first stop was Geraldine Javier of the Philippines. The Silverlens exhibition booth was covered with real leaves and evoked a feeling that we were in a forest.

Javier's piece was called Red Fights Back, which is an alternative look at The Red Riding Hood. A series of photographs showing Red's journey in the woods. Is she as innocent as she looks?
In the centre of the space stood a tree...

We next visited Singaporean artist Ang Sookoon, represented by FOST Gallery. Our guide Julia was pleased to announce that the work The Waves/Waifs (2009), brooms with golden hair, was acquired by collector.
Sookoon combines objects that seemed to be in conflict, eg. a humble broom with "posh" hair, a drawer that could be other things, or..
bread presented in crystal form (Your Love is like a chunk of gold):

Thai Anusorn Charoensuk was represented by Numthong Gallery and he was at the booth. He created backdrops of famous landmarks of the world in his home (toilet?) and got his family members to pose in front of them. This enables his family to "travel" to various parts of the world without leaving their home.
Anusorn's father passed away during this multi-year project. If you look at the Statue of Liberty photo, the figure of an angel represents his father.
For Art Stage, Anusorn did a backdrop of Orchard Road.
