Night Market along Mekong River, Vientiane (Laos)

A good option after dinner in Vientiane is to visit the night market, located along the Mekong River.  This has been a new attraction to the city for more than a year.  When I first visited Vientiane in 2010, the whole area was still under construction.

In 2011, some stalls were set up along the main road but this year, all the stalls are now located within the foot pavement.

While the stalls are targeted at the tourists, most of them have interesting crafts and souvenirs.  The stall helpers would not peser you to buy. The stalls open around 5:30 pm and closes past 10 pm.

The layout and design of the stalls were similar to that of Luang Prabang. The difference is that the stalls in Luang Prabang and shorter in height and most stall owners would be seating down.
